The Revenue Department had issued a notice to these shops stating that owing to their encroachment on road space, traffic congestion, water pollution and hampering of bus stand expansion work has been on the rise.
TTK road is the main road leading to the Army Center. It is to be noted that due to complaints from the Army Centre regarding congestion of traffic, action has been finally initiated to clear the shops that have encroached road space. Similarly, due to the traffic congestion around the bus stand area and to ensure that streams nearby are not dumped with waste, officials have reportedly taken this step with tight police security to clearing out these shops, since this morning.
