Coimbatore: A 20-year-old student had a narrow escape, after a man attempted to stab her using a knife at RS Puram here on Monday night. The girl has been admitted at a private hospital to treat minor injuries. Initial investigations suggest that the incident was a case of revenge following love breakup.
Coimbatore: A 20-year-old student had a narrow escape, after a man attempted to stab her using a knife at RS Puram here on Monday night. The girl has been admitted at a private hospital to treat minor injuries. Initial investigations suggest that the incident was a case of revenge following love breakup.
At about 7:30 pm on Monday, Neela (name changed) came out of her computer class in RS Puram. She was allegedly followed by a man named Suresh (21) who attempted to stab her using a knife. The alert students who were walking behind Neela thwarted his attempt and pushed him off.
The Police from RS Puram B2 police station rushed to the spot and arrested Suresh. Upon investigation, the police revealed that Neela and Suresh hail from Kerala and were in love. Due to some issues, Neela broke up with him and stayed away but Suresh continued to love her.
In this scenario, Suresh planned to kill Neela and attacked her today. The police are investigating.
The murder attempt on the busy roads of RS Puram jolted the public.
