Tirupur: Over 2000 residents in Karaipudur area of Palladam in Tirupur have been complaining of the industrial waste being produced by dyeing units and printing presses.
They alleged that the untreated zero water being discharged as waste water into the well, tanks and streams nearby has polluted groundwater. Apart from this, the emission of gravel-like particles by boiler companies has also affected the public.
Demanding an immediate closure of these companies and condemning the lack of action by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, the residents of Karaipudur decided to go on an indefinite strike in the Vazhaithottam area of Karaipudur.
