The 'Walkathon' had over 250 participants starting from Bharathi Park, Saibaba Colony at 7 am and walking through Rajan Annamalai Road, Narayana Guru Road and culminating at KTVR Group Hospital, at about 8.30 am.
Dr. Janarthanan and Vijaya Raghavan, the President and Vice President of the Coimbatore Environmental Society and others spoke about the harmful effects of air pollution and the necessary measures to be taken to beat air pollution in the city. The forum also took a pledge to keep both air and environment free of pollution.
