Coimbatore: The car procession of the 50-year old St.Antony's Church on the Ooty-Mettupalayam highway kick-started today with a flag hoisting ceremony.
Coimbatore: The car procession of the 50-year old St.Antony's Church on the Ooty-Mettupalayam highway kick-started today with a flag hoisting ceremony.
A special mass was celebrated in the church premises this morning, led by the church priest, Rosario. Subsequently, special prayers were offered even as the flag with the image of Mother Mary imprinted on it was carried around the church in a procession to the flag post.
Worship songs in praise of the Lord Jesus Christ were sung even as the 50-feet flag was hoisted by the Bishop of the Mettupalayam region, Rev.Jacob. A large number of Christians participated in the event. The car festival is expected to be held on the night of June 30.
