Coimbatore: In keeping with the renowned poet Bharathiyar's famous quote of how sacred it is to help educate the poor, Siruvani Vizhudhugal has consistently believed in helping poor students acquire education, over the past two years.
Six students from the Kalkothi tribal village, Noyyal, Madhvarayam Panchayat are studying in Classes 6-10, at the Madvarayapuram Government Secondary School. The literacy rate of the villagers is marginal. Due to the reduced income of the villagers, their children face basic issues like acquiring notebooks and guide books for their studies. On hearing this, friends from Siruvani Vizhudhugal have joined hands to provided the poor children with necessary study materials, as of today.

"We have been raising awareness on the importance of education among children hailing from low-income families and the Siruvani tribal village. As a result of this, a student who dropped out of Class 9 cleared Class XII exams and is now seeking help to join college," said a proud Siruvani Vizhudhugal volunteer.

It has also been decided that in the academic year ahead, the hurdles in educating these children will be identified and all efforts will be taken to ensure students continue their school and college education for the betterment of their own their lives. The organisation has also thanked the individuals who have contributed to help these children in their learning.

It is to be noted that the student who has cleared her Class XII Board exams is looking for help for her college education and any support would be appreciated.
