The Nilgiris : Hundreds of families residing at Forest Dale near Coonoor have placed a banner in their area saying that they are about to boycott the Lok Sabha elections.
The road from Forest Dale to Shanmugam Nagar, near Coonoor has been in a dilapidated state for a while now, unfit for vehicle movement. Due to this, bus service too has been suspended to this area. Following this, people have been urging authorities for a long time now to repair the damaged roads. Though the roads were dug up nearly a year ago, the contractors have not yet begun laying the roads. Hence residents of the area chose to announce their decision to boycott elections this year.
