Coimbatore: 6 company (teams) of police personnel, including 1 Tamil Nadu Special Police Force, 2 CRPF, 3 Kerala Special Police Force have arrived here in Coimbatore for election duty in the outskirts of the city. There will be 82 police personnel in one company.
Coimbatore: 6 company (teams) of police personnel, including 1 Tamil Nadu Special Police Force, 2 CRPF, 3 Kerala Special Police Force have arrived here in Coimbatore for election duty in the outskirts of the city. There will be 82 police personnel in one company.
Arrangements for stay for these police teams have been arranged at marriage halls in six different places. There are 1500 polling booths in the outskirts of Coimbatore out of which 300 have been identified as (tensed) troubled polling booths by the police department. Police personnel and paramilitary forces have been deployed in these booths.
Many paramilitary forces arrived in the city a few weeks ahead, after which additional police forces are arriving now. On the order given by the Coimbatore Police Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Balaji Saravanan is monitoring the facilities to be provided to these police personnel, by personally visiting their temporary areas of stay.
