The Nilgiris : Owing to summer rush, the district superintendent of the Nilgiris has announced traffic diversion between Mettupalayam and Ooty to ensure free flow of vehicles.
The below mentioned traffic diversion will come into effect from April 15 to May 31.
Traffic diversion
"All the vehicles heading towards Ooty from Mettupalayam will have to use the road Coonoor. And, all vehicles heading towards Coimbatore and Mettupalayam from Ooty will be allowed only to use the Kotagiri road. Also, vehicles coming from Coonoor should also pass through the Kotagiri route."
Entry restricted for heavy weight vehicles
Again, all the lorries heading from Mettupalayam towards Ooty will not be permitted to use either of the routes, Kotagiri or Barliyar between 6 am to 9 pm.
