Coimbatore : The three-time MLA, Pongalur Palanisamy has promised to revive agriculture and power looms in Sulur, if he is elected in the assembly by-election.
After DMK announced him as the candidate for Sulur assembly constituency, he met the press and thanked the leadership for granting him this opportunity. "Assembly seat in Sulur is a great recognition given by the party for my 50 years of dedicated public life. During my earlier tenures as Minister and MLA, I have implemented various developmental projects, notably the Semmozhi Maanadu conference".
The two-time Minister also vowed to strive to revive and promote agriculture and power looms in Sulur constituency. He also promised to implement the Anaimalai – Nallar river project.
"Power looms have taken a major hit after implementation of GST. Following the assurance given by Congress to reduce GST, the power looms and other MSMEs will be releived and revived. A 6-way road between Coimbatore and Sulur will be realised. Soon after the Parlimantary election polling, we will start our campaign in Sulur", he added.
