"CRPF and anti-naxal force to be deployed at all polling booths close to TN-Kerala border": Nilgiris district collector

The Nilgiris : Nilgiris District Collector and Returning Officer for Nilgiris Lok Sabha constituency, J. Innocent Divya said that CRPF will be deployed at all polling booths in tribal villages near Kerala border which are identified as maoist movement areas.

Addressing the media at the training session held for the officers appointed for election duty in Mettupalayam on Saturday, she said "Officials were trained on various practises including handling of EVM machines. Forest department will aid the electoral officers who are appointed for election duty in tribal villages. Presently, there is no trace of Maoist movement within Tamil Nadu but however, maoist movement was confirmed at Wayanad, Malappuram areas which are at close proximity to the Nilgiris".



"Hence, CRPF and anti-naxal force will be deployed in the TN-Kerala border" she added.
