A verbal war broke out at the Anna Statue between the cadres of both the parties on Friday night. Police personnel were deployed at the spot to avoid escalation of the issue.
The AIADMK cadres urged the police to book the AMMK cadre for calling out 'Amma' as 'Jayalalitha'. The police clarified that case cannot be registered for such issues and pacified the crowd. Tense situation prevailed in the area for a brief time, until they dispersed.
