Coimbatore: The Narcotics Control Bureau have arrested 3 persons in Mettupalayam for selling ganja.
Based on a tip-off that ganja and other illegal drugs are sold in and around Mettupalayam, a team headed over by Sreenivasa Perumal, Deputy Superintendent of Drug Prevention and Intelligence Division along with 2 DSPs and 3 inspectors were formed into four groups and conducted thorough checks at Mettupalayam, Karamadai, Kallaru and Sirumugai areas.
During a vehicle check on Friday, the tean arrested Kittaan, Selvam and Moorthi and seized a total of 2.5 kg ganja from them. Case has been registered against them under drug abuse prevention act. The offenders were lodged in Coimbatore central prison after being produced before the Court.
