Coimbatore : A three-day conference of the South Indian Model United Nations (SIMUN) conference was inaugurated at the Indian Public School here, today. Sanjay Kumar, the Commissioner of Police, Tiruppur inaugurated the conference.

The third chapter of SIMUN is featuring around 850 delegates from various part of South India and delegates from countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are also taking part in the conference to discuss about social progress.
Inaugurating the event, Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar said that students should have the habit of trying since it changes the personality of any person. "Only those who have that habit would be able to be a successful person who can achieve repeatedly," added the Police Commissioner.
The Police Commissioner further advised students to focus on positives. He opined that the inner desire of a person is the most important aspect for success and to grab the opportunity that arises. He added that SIMUN is a good platform for students to express their opinions.
"The South Indian Model United Nations is an essential Model United Nations platform for students that aim to make the world a better place. The SIMUN here is organized by the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students. The third chapter of SIMUN has a special committee for the Tamil language where delegates can express their opinion in Tamil."
