Coimbatore: A total of 3070 polling booths have been established for 975 centres in the 10 assembly constituencies of Coimbatore South, Coimbatore North, Kavundampalayam, Singanallur, Thondamuthur, Mettupalayam, Sulur, Kinathukadavu, Pollachi, and Valparai.

The Election Officials have sanctioned a basic amount of Rs.1000 for each polling booth to provide basic facilities like drinking water and 'pandhal '(shed), which accounts to a total of Rs. 30,70,000.
An Election Officer said, “We have sent voting ink, stationery, tablecloths and papers much ahead to all 3070 polling booths. Also, we have sanctioned Rs.1,000 for each polling booth to create basic facilities like a 'shamiyana' and drinking water. This money will be given to the concerned Village Administration Officer,” he added.
