Coimbatore: After successful completion of two years, this year's South Indian Model United Nations (SIMUN) will be witnessing more than 900 delegates from 50 plus schools aged between 12 and 18, from in and around South India and International delegates from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, U.A.E and Oman.

Themed 'Uniting Minds, Creating Leaders' SIMUN 2019 is co-hosted by the Indian Public School, Coimbatore and organized by the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme along with students and the Alumni Network of the School.
The three-day event will be kick-started on April 12 by Sanjay Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Tirupur who will be the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony.

SIMUN - Biggest Conference in South India
SIMUN 2019 hosts 20 committees, ranging from UN committees to non-UN bodies such as the Council of Ministers of Colombia, 1942-Indian Independence Negotiations and the United Nations General Assembly, hence making SIMUN the second biggest conference in South India and the only conference that hosts the most number of committees in India.
The committees seek to develop the world socially, economically and politically to create a better future for all of us, not just those with access to capital or political influence.
These committees not only reflect the detailed replica of UN procedures, technology, intensity and ambience but also aim to give a deep insight into the art of diplomacy, the values of collaboration, compromise, skills in public speaking, research, and debate.
