Election Commission bans release of PM Modi biopic

The Election Commission has banned the release of ‘PM Narendra Modi,’ a biopic of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi which was all set to release on April 11. The Election Commission stated that "no biopic serving any political purpose can be displayed."

Earlier, the Supreme Court had dismissed a petition that sought a stay on the release of the film. The Supreme Court had also pointed out that the Election Commission will be the appropriate place to seek a solution for the issue.
