Coimbatore : The police who had booked a man Paramasivam from Pollachi under the POCSO Act on charges of sexually assaulting his nine-year old step daughter, finally arrested him.
The police produced him before the Judicial Magistrate Court 5 and imprisoned him. Paramasivam had been absconding for a few days since the incident came to light at the girl's school.
According to reports, Dhevi of Kollupalayam near Pollachi is married to Paramasivam (35) who is her second husband. Dhevi has two daughters aged 9 and 3, from her first marriage.
Paramasivam had been sexually assaulting the nine-year old girl and the incident came to light after the girl shared her trauma with her class teacher. The girl who is studying in Class 4 at the Pollachi Kollupalayam Government School was asked by her class teacher the reason for always being tired.
After hearing her ordeal, the school management was informed. Following this, a complaint was made to the Children’s Safety Commission on behalf of the school. In turn, the officials of the Commission filed a complaint at the Pollachi All Women Police station.
After an inquiry, the police registered a case against Paraman (a) Paramasivam of Kollupalayam under the POCSO Act. He had gone absconding for a few days.
