Coimbatore: The CPM State Secretary K Balakrishnan lauded the announcement of the by-election in four constituencies as the first victory for the Secular Progressive Alliance.
Addressing the media in Gandhipuram here, K Balakrishnan slammed the PM's campaign speech saying, "Forgetting that he is the Prime Minister of the nation, Modi is speaking lies. Modi who says that Tamil language is the best language has given priority to Sanskrit in their election manifesto. Also Prime Minister Modi has no right to speak on the rights of women. Small scale industries have declined due to the implementation of demonetization and GST. The crowd that gathered for Modi is not the one that came on its own. Modi is the one who is the reason for the decline of the nation," he added.
"The Prime Minister making a statement against the Supreme Court's verdict in the Sabarimala issue has left us in shock. The Election Commission should take action against Modi for making such statements, " he further added.
K Balakrishnan felt that the announcement of by- elections in four constituencies has come as a shock to the AIADMK alliance which had attempted to postpone the by-election. "The DMK alliance will emerge victorious in the by-election in all 22 constituencies. And the Modi government will be sent back home on May 23 when counting of votes begin," he added.
"Rajinikanth did not support the BJP-AIADMK alliance but only supported the rivers interlinking announcement. The late former Chief Minister Karunanidhi was buried as per court order. Edappadi Palaniswamy who refused to give land is the worst Chief Minister," he slammed.
