Tirupur: Campaigning for MSM Anandhan, the AIADMK candidate in the Tirupur parliamentary constituency, the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy said that Rs. 300 crores alternate land was provided during the demise of the late former Chief Minister Karunanidhi, as the case was pending in Court.

"If the country should be in a good condition, a powerful regime should be formed at the Centre for which Modi should become the Prime Minister again. All the announcements made in the election manifesto of DMK are lies. This is a parliamentary election, but the manifesto of DMK is focused on state issues. Many DMK members are in prison in sexual assault cases. Women will be safe, if DMK stays silent. Stalin who feared to go to Madurai even during the DMK rule is now going there for campaigning, which makes it clear that the law and order in the State today, is effective.

They sought burial space for the late former DMK Chief Karunanidhi in Marina. Citing the case, we provided an alternate place worth Rs. 300 crores. But, the people who filed a case by the DMK’s perusal have withdrawn the case, following which they gained the approval through Court. But they are spreading false news among people today. We acted with humanity by not appealing against the Court order. We have enabled power-cut free Tamil Nadu and have provided 100 unit free electricity. Did DMK ask for votes by talking about its reforms in any one place? DMK’s campaign is centred on accusing our Ministers and Prime Minister Modi," slammed the CM.

People were brought in more than 50 vans to the campaign venue in Pandiyan Nagar in Tiruppur violating the model code of conduct.

Also, to prevent the crowd from dispersing before the CM arrived at the venue, a dance event was held in which various artistes performed.
