Farmers should withdraw protest and come forward for negotiation: Minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan

Tirupur : Animal Husbandry Minister Udumalai K Radhakrishnan has requested the protesting farmers against high tension electricity lines on agricultural lands to withdraw their protest and come forward for negotiation.

"The TNEB Minister Thangamani have called upon the farmers for negotiation, for which the farmers should come forward by withdrawing their protest", he urged. 

Earlier, State government has announced that a Global Investors’ Meet will be held in Chennai, on January 2019. Following which, multiple conferences are being conducted across Tamil Nadu, with a view to attract more investments. 



Minister Udumalai K Radhakrishnan took part in the conference that was held in Tirupur, today. Addressing the media, he said, ‘We have fixed a target of Rs.3000 crore investments for Tirupur industries. Tirupur industrialists will play a major role in this meet, as MoU for a total of Rs 2600 crore has been made with 520 entrepreneurs of Tirupur". 

"A compiled report of Rs.940 crore worth schemes for animal husbandry department has been handed over to the Union Minister for Agriculture. The report comprises of seeking fund allocation of Rs. 360 crore to built a world-class animal husbandry park in Salem and Rs. 325 crore to buy medical equipments", the Minister apprised. 

Replying to the announcement by the farmers for laying siege to TN assembly on January 3, he said, "Let's see, when they come".
