According to reports, Vijayaraman Iyer (48) of Srirangam, Trichy has been residing at Thondamuthur here. For the past several years, he has been impersonating himself as a RAW officer.
Meanwhile, police received information that a person was seen roaming with an air gun during a Mariyamman temple festival at Thondamuthur.
Police rushed to the spot and nabbed the person. On investigation, he was identified as Vijayaraman Iyer.
Vijayaraman Iyer said to the Police that he was a RAW officer and also a member of Israel intelligence agency ‘Mossad’.
Police grew suspicious on his statement and took him to Vadavalli police station for further investigation. Police confiscated his fake RAW ID card and the air gun from him.
