Coimbatore : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths who have been carrying out searches in the houses of three men suspected to have been involved in a conspiracy case to murder Hindu outfit leaders, seized a pointed dagger, three mobile phones and Rs.2.16 lakh unaccounted cash. The raid was carried out simultaneously with three teams searching the houses of the suspects.

The raid was carried out simultaneously with three teams searching the houses of the suspects.
The NIA officials who are investigating the conspiracy case searched the house of Ashik in the Variety Hall area and Faisal at GM Nagar, near Ukkadam where they seized the 21 cm long knife. Earlier, the city police arrested seven suspects in the conspiracy case including Faisal, Jalauddin, Jaffer Siddick, Shamsuddin from Chennai and Aashik from Coimbatore on September 3.
Cases have been registered under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) on all five men, and the cases were later transferred to NIA that same month. It is suspected that the arrested persons had hatched a plot to kill Arjun Sampath, the Hindu Munnani leader and Anbu Murari, the President of Sakthi Sena.
