Coimbatore: Rotary Coimbatore City, on Saturday recognized achievers form various fields for their exemplary contribution to the upliftment of their field and to the society by honoring them with 'Vocational Excellence Award'.
Coimbatore: Rotary Coimbatore City, on Saturday recognized achievers form various fields for their exemplary contribution to the upliftment of their field and to the society by honoring them with 'Vocational Excellence Award'.
The recipients were Dr.Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, Managing Trustee of Senaapathy Kangayam Cattle Research Foundation, Dr. R Nandagopal, Dean XMIE, Cochin and Ms. Udaya P S Menon, JWALAA, Coimbatore.
The awardees were honoured by Dr. Kavidasan, Director HR, Roots industries Coimbatore who was the chief guest for the award ceremony.
Addressing at the event, Dr. Kavidasan stated that "Education can be divided into three: Education for examination, Education for employment and Education for life. To shine in life, students should opt the third option 'education for life'.
Dr. Karthikeya Sivasenapathy of SKCRF, an iconic figure in Tamil Nadu who threw light on the need to preserve native cattle and monumental in the historic Jallikattu Protests in 2017 which witnessed 3 million youth for the cause.
Mr. Karthikeya emphasised that people of Kongu region should pay more attention on preserving and conserving our water bodies.
Dr. Kavidasan released the trophies for the Cricket Tournament to be organised by Rotary Coimbatore City to raise funds for renovating Government schools in the outskirts of the city.
Rtn. Soma Shekar, President of Rotary Coimbatore City stated that "Rotary has been involving in several projects for the upliftment of rural people. The trees planted by Rotary in rural areas have been maintained with care and passion by the locals. To motivate them to engage in tree plantation and to take good care of the existing trees, we have even announced prizes. This initiative ensures prompt maintenance of the newly planted trees".
Others present on the occasion were Rtn.Dr.Karuppasamy Ramanathan, Secretary of Rotary Coimbatore City, Rtn. Karthikeyan Jawahar, Vocational Service Director.
