Tamilnadu College of Engineering Hosts Fire Safety Workshop to Build Safety Culture Among Students

Tamilnadu College of Engineering's Mechanical Engineering Department organized a fire safety workshop on August 8, 2026. Dr. Anusha Ravi, CEO of Park Institutions, emphasized building a safety culture among students. Experts from Coimbatore Fire Safety College conducted the awareness program for students and staff.


Coimbatore: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tamilnadu College of Engineering organized a comprehensive workshop on fire safety at its campus on August 8, 2026, aimed at creating awareness among students and staff about fire prevention, safety measures, and emergency response procedures.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. P. Dharmalingam, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, who highlighted the critical importance of fire-safety awareness and preparedness in ensuring the safety of students and staff members.




The workshop was conducted by Dr. J. Goldwin Vijay Anand, Director – Training, and Prof. N. Kathirvel from Coimbatore Fire Safety College, Coimbatore. The experts covered essential aspects of fire prevention protocols, emergency evacuation procedures, and hands-on training in using fire safety equipment.

Speaking about the program, Dr. Anusha Ravi, CEO of Park Institutions, said, "Fire safety is not just a protocol, it is a culture we must instill in every young mind." She praised the active participation of students and faculty, noting that awareness programs like this strengthen the institution's commitment to holistic education and community well-being.

The workshop received enthusiastic participation from students and staff, who gained valuable knowledge about fire hazards, prevention techniques, and proper response mechanisms during fire emergencies. Such initiatives reflect the institution's proactive approach toward campus safety and student welfare.
