Coimbatore: The Department of Neurointerventional Radiology at GKNM Hospital, in association with the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR), successfully conducted a comprehensive two-day National Level Stroke Workshop. The intensive training program brought together 28 selected specialists and delegates from across India to master advanced stroke intervention techniques under the leadership of Dr Rasmiranjan Padhi.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr Ragupathy Veluswamy, Chief Executive Officer of GKNM Hospital, who emphasized the critical importance of continuous medical education and advanced skill development in improving patient outcomes. "Interventional radiology, using sophisticated imaging and minimally invasive techniques, has transformed modern medicine. Nowhere is this more evident than in acute stroke care, where mechanical thrombectomy enables patients to not only survive but regain their independence," the CEO noted.
