Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has introduced WhatsApp number 9445477016 for students residing in social justice hostels to report complaints and safety concerns. Student details will be kept strictly confidential, ensuring a secure complaint mechanism.

Coimbatore: District Collector Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has launched a dedicated WhatsApp complaint number for students staying in social justice hostels across the district. This initiative aims to provide a direct channel for students to voice their concerns about facilities, safety, and hostel management.

Students residing in hostels run under the Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, and Minorities Welfare departments can now report their grievances through WhatsApp number 9445477016. The facility has been created specifically for students to communicate their needs regarding basic amenities, doubts, safety concerns, hostel administrative issues, and any unusual situations they may encounter.

The Collector announced that students can confidently report all matters including inadequate facilities, deficiencies in services provided, hostel management irregularities, and security threats at any time. The WhatsApp number will remain operational 24 hours a day, ensuring students have round-the-clock access to register their complaints.

Emphasizing the confidentiality aspect, the District Collector assured that the personal details of students filing complaints will not be disclosed under any circumstances. Student information will be completely protected and kept confidential. Investigations will be conducted solely based on the complaint content, without revealing the identity of the complainant.

Pawan Kumar Giriyappanar has appealed to students to utilize this opportunity appropriately to fully benefit from the hostel facilities provided by the Tamil Nadu government. This measure has been implemented with the objective of ensuring the welfare and safety of hostel students, providing them with a secure and confidential platform to address their concerns without fear of repercussions.
