TN School Education Minister Inaugurates Renovated Government Primary School in Pallapalayam

Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi inaugurated a renovated primary school in Pallapalayam near Sulur on 14.10.2024. The renovation, sponsored by Pricol Ltd through its CSR fund of Rs. 1.2 crore, includes new classrooms and modern facilities.



Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi inaugurated a renovated government primary school in Pallapalayam near Sulur on Monday (14.10.2024). The renovation project, entirely sponsored by Pricol Ltd through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund, cost Rs. 1.20 crore.



The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Vijay Mohan, Founder of Pricol Ltd; Vanitha Mohan, Chairperson of Pricol Ltd; Ganapathy Rajkumar, MP, Coimbatore; R.Balamurali, Chief Education Officer - Coimbatore; and Sweta Suman IAS, Additional Collector, Coimbatore.

Vanitha Mohan, in her welcome address, highlighted the amenities provided in the renovated school premises. The new block, developed on a 5050 sq.ft area, features five individual classrooms, a dedicated room for teachers, purified drinking water facility, clean and separate toilets for boys and girls, a mini playground, reinforced guard rails near staircases, and complete CCTV surveillance.

Each classroom has been equipped with desks and chairs suitable for the children's age requirements. In line with Siruthuli's (an NGO working towards creating a greener Coimbatore) focus on water conservation, Rain Water Harvesting structures capable of storing 22,000 litres of rainwater have been installed on the school campus. Additionally, ten tree saplings were planted to create a greener landscape.

Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi appreciated Pricol Ltd. for their contribution and urged the students to make good use of the improved school premises. He emphasized the importance of focusing on building Tamil Nadu's future through the education they receive.

The Minister stated, "Pricol has spent, or should I say, invested Rs.1 crore+ on the school education sector. It is our duty to create societal development as the Interest on Investment you've made. We will certainly deliver it."

He further elaborated on the Tamil Nadu Government's commitment to supporting children's education from school to collegiate level through various schemes, including the TN Chief Minister's Breakfast scheme and Nan Mudhalvan scheme. The Minister also mentioned the state's efforts to facilitate job opportunities through MoUs with global companies, promising guidance for students from childhood to their career stage, spanning about 25 years.
