All-party meeting held in Udumalpet to discuss polling booth reorganization

An all-party meeting was held at the Udumalpet Revenue Divisional Office to discuss the reorganization of polling booths in Udumalpet and Madathukulam assembly constituencies, addressing various changes and proposals.



Coimbatore: An all-party meeting was held at the Udumalpet Revenue Divisional Office (RDO) to discuss the reorganization of polling booths in the Udumalpet and Madathukulam assembly constituencies. The meeting, chaired by RDO Personal Assistant Jalaja, focused on various aspects of booth reorganization, including the division of booths with more than 1,500 voters, restructuring of areas, relocation of polling stations, and name changes.

For the Udumalpet assembly constituency, it was proposed to change the location of the polling booth in Part 2 of Kallipatti Panchayat Union Primary School from the east-facing building to the north-facing building, based on public request. Additionally, a proposal was made to split the polling booths in Parts 74 and 75 at the Panchayat Union Middle School in Suleswaran Patti.



The Udumalpet assembly constituency has 294 polling stations with a total of 2,64,414 voters, including men, women, and transgender individuals. In the Madathukulam assembly constituency, there was a request to split the 285th polling booth in Rudrapalayam area, which has 1,394 voters, into two. Another proposal was made to set up a new polling booth in the Kuppampalayam area. Officials stated that these requests would be considered.

The Madathukulam assembly constituency has 287 polling stations with a total of 2,36,059 voters, including men, women, and transgender individuals.

The meeting was attended by various officials and political party representatives, including Madathukulam Tahsildar Bhanumathi, Election Deputy Tahsildars Syed Rabiyammal and Valarmathi, Udumalpet Town BJP President Kannayiram, Tirupur South District General Secretary Vaduganathan, Udumalpet Town Congress President G. Ravi, Communist Party of India representative Krishnasamy, Bahujan Samaj Party's Kirubakaran, and representatives from DMK and AIADMK.
