Coimbatore: Nilgiris MP and DMK Deputy General Secretary A. Raja arrived in Coimbatore on Thursday (August 31) to participate in a voter thanksgiving event in the Karamadai West Union areas. The event is being held to express gratitude to the voters who supported the party in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

A. Raja flew in from Chennai to Coimbatore for this purpose. Upon his arrival at the Coimbatore International Airport, he was warmly received by DMK North District Secretary Thondamuthur Ravi, who honored him with a traditional shawl.

The thanksgiving event is scheduled to take place in various parts of the Karamadai West Union, where A. Raja is expected to address the party supporters and thank the electorate for their support during the parliamentary elections. This visit is seen as part of DMK's efforts to maintain a strong connection with its voter base in the region.

The presence of a high-ranking party official like A. Raja for such an event underscores the importance the DMK attaches to grassroots-level engagement, especially in areas that have shown strong support for the party. It also serves as an opportunity for the party to reinforce its presence and prepare ground for future electoral contests.
