101-year-old voter's wish fulfilled: Coimbatore MP visits to express gratitude

Coimbatore MP Ganapathi Rajkumar visited 101-year-old Lakshmiyammal at her home in Kaluveripalaiyam to thank her for voting. The centenarian had expressed a desire to meet the candidate she voted for in the recent parliamentary elections.



Coimbatore: In a heartwarming gesture, Coimbatore MP Ganapathi Rajkumar personally visited the home of 101-year-old Lakshmiyammal to express his gratitude for her vote in the recent parliamentary elections. The centenarian voter, residing in Kaluveripalaiyam of Palladam Assembly constituency, had expressed a desire to meet the candidate she had voted for.

Responding to Lakshmiyammal's wish, MP Ganapathi Rajkumar made a special trip to her residence. During the visit, he thanked her for her support and sought her blessings. The emotional encounter left many onlookers touched by the respect shown to the elderly voter.

During their conversation, Lakshmiyammal, with a voice filled with emotion, told the MP, "I voted for you, for the Rising Sun symbol." She also revealed that she had been consistently voting for the DMK for the past 50 years.



This visit highlights the importance of every vote and the mutual respect between elected representatives and their constituents. It also serves as a reminder of the dedication of senior citizens to the democratic process, with Lakshmiyammal's commitment to voting even at her advanced age being particularly noteworthy.
