Mayor Honors Outstanding Employees and Students in Coimbatore Corporation

Coimbatore Mayor K. Ranganayaki Ramachandran presented certificates of appreciation to 1,587 individuals, including corporation employees, students, and teachers, for their exceptional performances in various fields on August 20, 2024.


Coimbatore: In a grand ceremony held at the R.S. Puram auditorium in Coimbatore, Mayor K. Ranganayaki Ramachandran honored 1,587 individuals for their outstanding achievements in various fields. The event, which took place on August 20, 2024, was presided over by Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS.





The recipients included 810 officers and staff who excelled in firefighting operations at the Vellalore dump yard, 16 employees who completed 25 years of distinguished service in the corporation (each receiving Rs. 2,000), and 107 officers and staff recognized for their exceptional work performance.



Additionally, 360 corporation officers and teachers who participated and won in various sports competitions such as football, cricket, handball, and volleyball were honored. The academic achievements were also celebrated, with 26 students who secured 100% pass in the 12th standard state board exams and 17 students who scored perfect 100 marks in the 10th standard exams receiving accolades.



The event also recognized 119 teachers who helped achieve 100% pass rate in various subjects for the 12th standard and 117 teachers for the 10th standard. Ten individuals who secured first place at the state-level arts festival and five students who qualified under the IIT program were also honored.

Mayor Ranganayaki Ramachandran presented rotating shields to three corporation schools - Udayampalayam Corporation Higher Secondary School, Varadharajapuram Corporation High School, and Siddapudur Corporation Girls High School - for achieving 100% pass rate in the 10th standard public exams.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including Deputy Mayor R. Vetri Selvan, Corporation Deputy Commissioner K. Sivakumar, Chief Engineer Anbazhagan, Zonal Committee Chairpersons K.A. Deivayani Tamilmarai (West), Lakshmi Ilanchelvi Karthik (East), R. Thanalakshmi (South), City Health Officer (in-charge) Dr. K. Boopathi, City Education Officer Gunasekaran, and various other corporation officials and council members.
