Man arrested for ganja possession near Periyanaickenpalayam

Police arrested a Bihar native with 1.1 kg of ganja near Kumarapuram bus stop in Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore, following a tip-off. The suspect was caught during a search operation on August 18.


Coimbatore: The Periyanaickenpalayam police arrested a man for possessing ganja intended for sale near Kumarapuram bus stop on Friday, August 18. The arrest came after the police received confidential information about ganja being brought for sale in the area.

Acting on the tip-off, the Periyanaickenpalayam police conducted a search operation near the Kumarapuram bus stop. During the search, they apprehended Sethu Paswan, a 23-year-old native of Bihar, who was found in possession of ganja for sale.

The police seized 1 kilogram and 100 grams of ganja from Paswan's possession. Following the arrest, the suspect was produced before the court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of the Coimbatore police to curb drug trafficking and distribution in the city. The authorities continue to urge the public to report any suspicious activities related to drug trade in their neighborhoods.
