Man Injured as Tree Falls on Dr. Nanjappa Road in Coimbatore

A 30-year-old man was injured when a tree fell at Park Gate junction on Dr. Nanjappa Road, Coimbatore, on Friday evening. The incident also damaged vehicles and disrupted traffic.


Coimbatore: A 30-year-old man suffered injuries after a tree fell on him at Park Gate junction on Dr. Nanjappa Road in Coimbatore on Friday evening. The incident also resulted in damage to vehicles and temporary traffic disruption.

The injured man, identified as Sanjay from Dharmapuri district, sustained injuries to his hip and legs after being crushed under a branch of the fallen tree. His two-wheeler was also damaged in the incident. Sanjay has been admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for treatment.

In addition to Sanjay's two-wheeler, a car and an autorickshaw were also partially damaged due to the tree fall. The incident caused partial obstruction of traffic along one side of Dr. Nanjappa Road for a few hours.

Fire and Rescue Services personnel quickly responded to the scene and removed the fallen tree. Local authorities are investigating the cause of the tree fall and considering measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
