Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a couple involved in an illicit relationship was arrested for assaulting and robbing an elderly woman in Kalappatti, near Coimbatore. The accused, identified as Narmada alias Nadia (23) from Gudalur, Nilgiris district, and her lover Vigneshwaran alias Vicky (28) from Kalappatti, were apprehended by the Kovil Palayam police on July 26.

The incident occurred on July 24 when 80-year-old Nanjammal, a resident of Old Post Office Street in Kalappatti, was alone at her home.
