Kargil Vijay Diwas Commemorated at Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya in Periyanaickenpalayam

Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya in Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore, celebrated the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26. The event honored fallen soldiers and featured a special address by Lt. Col. R.V. Giri, a Kargil War veteran.


Coimbatore: The Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Arts and Science College in Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore, in collaboration with the Akhil Bharatiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad, celebrated the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26. The event paid tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1999 Kargil War against Pakistan.



The program began with a solemn tribute to the martyred soldiers. Captain Neelakandan, the National Cadet Corps officer of the college, delivered the welcome address, followed by a presidential speech by Dr. Muthusamy, the college principal.

Lt. Col. R.V. Giri, a former army officer who participated in the Kargil War, was the chief guest of the event. He delivered a special address on the Kargil War, highlighting the service and sacrifices of Indian Army soldiers. Lt. Col. Giri also informed students about the various branches of the Indian armed forces and the opportunities available to join the Indian Army as officers, emphasizing their role in national security.



Prior to the main event, Lt. Col. R.V. Giri was given a special welcome by the college's National Cadet Corps. Dr. Sridhar, Director of the college's self-financing division, proposed the vote of thanks.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Dr. Kandappan, former principal of the college, Dr. Wilson, head of the cooperative department, Yuvaraj, National Service Scheme officer, and professors Prakash, Govindaraj, Soundarraj, and Nandakumar Santhanakrishnan. Over 400 students participated in the commemorative event, making it a significant occasion to remember the valor and sacrifices of India's armed forces.
