MLA Vanathi Srinivasan Criticizes CM Stalin's Response to PM Modi's Speech in Odisha

Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan criticizes Tamil Nadu CM Stalin's attempts to divert and distort PM Modi's speeches. Claims such attempts were unsuccessful in Odisha.

Coimbatore: In a statement released on May 21, Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan addressed the controversy surrounding Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's reactions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speeches. She stated that CM Stalin’s attempts to divert and misrepresent PM Modi's words during his campaign rallies in Odisha were unsuccessful.

During these rallies, PM Modi usually speaks for about an hour, highlighting the achievements of the BJP government over the last 10 years. He allocates a significant portion of his speech to expose alleged conspiracies and divisive plans by opposition parties, including the DMK and its allies. According to Srinivasan, PM Modi consistently speaks about national unity and the advances achieved by states under BJP governance. In contrast, she accuses CM Stalin of fostering division and hatred, with his rhetoric on communal and linguistic lines.

Srinivasan vehemently criticised CM Stalin for not responding to derogatory comments made by the DMK MP Senthilkumar, who used offensive terms to describe Hindi-speaking states in Parliament. She argues that Stalin's silence on these divisive comments is hypocritical and dangerous, stating that such actions could provoke discord among communities based on religion, language, and regional identity.

Furthermore, MLA Srinivasan praised PM Modi for his efforts to promote the Tamil language and culture on international platforms, underscoring his speeches that affirm Tamil as one of the world's ancient languages. She considers attempts to portray PM Modi as anti-Tamil as baseless and unlikely to resonate with the people of Tamil Nadu.

The intensifying debate highlights the ongoing political tension between national and state leadership roles, with leaders using public platforms to assert their visions for India's sociopolitical future.
