126th Annual Flower Show Commences at Ooty Botanical Gardens

The 126th edition of the Ooty Flower Show has started today, May 10, at the Ooty Botanical Gardens, featuring a Disney World themed display made from 120,000 flowers.


The Nilgiris: The 126th Ooty Flower Show was inaugurated today at the Botanical Gardens, marking the continuation of a historically significant event.



Notably, this year’s highlight includes a massive Disney World-themed frontage spanning 35 feet in height and 44 feet in width, meticulously crafted with over 120,000 flowers.



Additionally, one of the crowd-pleasers at the venue is an artistic representation of the iconic Ooty Mountain Railway, designed from 80,000 flowers and measures an impressive 35 feet by 22 feet.



Furthermore, the flower show features a floral banner constructed from 30,000 flowers and numerous smaller floral decorations comprising 15,000 flowers set for display.



The organizers have also showcased an array of 388 different types of flowers distributed across 72 species in 35,000 flower pots for tourists to enjoy.

The event was officially started by Chief Secretary Sivadas Meena and the Commissioner for Agricultural Production, highlighting the show's importance as an attraction that uniquely celebrates botanical artistry.
