Coimbatore: A tragic incident occurred in the Vellakoil area near Kangayam, Coimbatore, where two young boys, Gokul and Aswin, both aged eight, lost their lives after falling into a privately owned well. The bodies were recovered from a well in the Uppupalaiyam region following a search sparked by their disappearance report.

The boys, identified as Prakash's son Gokul and Jayakumar's son Aswin, were reported missing while playing near their home during the school's summer recess. Their bicycles and clothes were found near the well, leading rescue workers to surmise they might have fallen in while playing.

After an intensive search operation lasting approximately an hour and a half, the two bodies were retrieved from the well and sent to the Kangayam Government Hospital. The local police station has registered a case and has initiated an inquiry into the circumstances leading to this unfortunate event. The district police urge parents to ensure the safety of their children, especially during holidays, and to educate them about the dangers of unguarded water bodies.
