The change will affect the Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express (Train No: 13352) and the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Intercity Express (Train No: 12678) on the dates of March 19, 21, and 23, 2024

Coimbatore: In a recent announcement by the Salem Railway Division, it has been declared that due to ongoing engineering maintenance works at Peelamedu and Irugur railway station areas, two trains that usually operate via Coimbatore will be rerouted via Podanur. The change will affect the Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express (Train No: 13352) and the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Intercity Express (Train No: 12678) on the dates of March 19, 21, and 23.

These adjustments are made to accommodate the engineering maintenance work, ensuring safety and infrastructure enhancement. As per the announcement, the trains will halt at Podanur Railway Station for three minutes before continuing their journey. This temporary rerouting is part of the division’s efforts to conduct necessary maintenance work without significantly disrupting the travel plans of passengers.

Passengers are advised to check their travel schedules in advance and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid any inconvenience. The Salem Railway Division has expressed its commitment to minimizing disruptions and ensuring the maintenance works are completed efficiently and swiftly. This rerouting is expected to cause minimal impact on the travel times of passengers, and regular services are anticipated to resume following the completion of the maintenance work.

For further updates and travel advisories, passengers can contact the railway customer service or visit the Indian Railways website. This temporary change highlights the importance of regular maintenance in ensuring the safety and reliability of railway operations.
