Women Police Officers in Coimbatore to Have a Day Off Today Following Women's Day Celebration

Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan announced a day off for female police officers working in Coimbatore following the Women's Day celebration held at the Armed Forces Ground.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police celebrated International Women's Day with a grand festival at the Armed Forces Ground, led by Police Commissioner Balakrishnan. The event titled "Women's Day Festival" saw the participation of Deputy Commissioners Sukhasini and Saravanan among other prominent figures.

The celebration featured various performances and competitions for female police officers. The event concluded with dance performances to cinema songs, bringing joy and entertainment to the participants. Commissioner Balakrishnan, in his address, highlighted the importance of recognizing Women's Day not just as a single day but as an extension of Women's Week, acknowledging the continuous hard work of female officers throughout the year. He emphasized the necessity for a day of relaxation and joy, marking it as a moment to celebrate their dedication.

Further, Commissioner Balakrishnan shared insights on the upcoming election duties over the next two months, stating that such events could not be organized during this period. He urged the officers to utilize the current energy and enthusiasm for the forthcoming electoral tasks.

In conclusion, it was announced that, following today's Women's Day event, female police officers would be granted a day off on March 10, 2024. This decision aligns with the directive from the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, ensuring that police officers have a weekly day off. Commissioner Balakrishnan encouraged the officers to enjoy this break and return rejuvenated for their election duties starting the next day.
