Coimbatore: Today, the Koni Amman Temple Chariot Festival begins with a vibrant flag hoisting ceremony, marking the start of the much-anticipated annual event. Starting at 6:30 AM, devotees are partaking in the Sakala Dravya Abhishekam, where the goddess is adorned and worshipped in a special decoration, followed by the flag hoisting at the temple premises at 3:00 PM.

The temple's executive officer informed that the day is packed with spiritual activities, including Yagasala poojas and protective rituals scheduled for 6:00 PM. These ceremonies not only mark the commencement of the chariot festival but also symbolize the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Coimbatore.

The festival draws devotees from various parts of the region, coming together to celebrate and seek blessings. The temple administration has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival and the safety of the attendees.
