Sabarimala Devotees Express Concern Over Safety and Crowd Management

Sabarimala devotees from Tamil Nadu express fear over safety and heavy crowds at the annual pilgrimage, with some opting for local temples instead.

Coimbatore: The Sabarimala temple in Kerala, known for its annual pilgrimage during the months of Karthikai and Maargazhi, is facing an unprecedented situation this year. Tamil Nadu devotees have expressed concerns over safety due to overcrowding. During an event in Selvapuram, Coimbatore, many regular devotees, who have been visiting Sabarimala for over 55 years, decided to visit local temples instead. The issues include long waits for darshan, lack of safety measures, and inadequate food and water supply. Devotees urge Tamil Nadu government to provide guidance and support for those traveling to Sabarimala and call for coordinated action by all state governments.
