Muslims provide offerings to Vinayakar in Pollachi

Coimbatore: On the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturthi, the DMK workers in Pollachi welcomed the Muslims who offered prayers to Lord Vinayagar with shawls.

To emphasise the unity between Hindus and Muslims, the DMK cadres welcomed the Muslims who brought the reform to Lord Ganesha with shawls.

Ganesh Chaturthi festival is being celebrated across the country. Accordingly, a huge idol of Lord Vinayaka was erected at the famous cattle market in Pollachi in Coimbatore district on behalf of the cattle traders and the vinayaka chaturthi festival was celebrated in a grand manner.

In this situation, a large number of Muslims, led by The Small Mosque Administrator Hussain, came together to bring fruits, sweets and a small ganesha idol in a row and offered them to Lord Ganesha.



DMK Law Amendment Committee member Thendral Selvaraj, Municipal Vice-President Gouthaman, Municipal Councillors Nachimuthu, Senthil, Manimala, Coimbatore South District Youth Wing Deputy Convener Manimaran and cow traders welcomed the muslims with shawls.

Hussain, the administrator of the small mosque, said, "As far as Tamil Nadu is concerned, Hindus and Muslims are very united. We are happy to participate in hindu programmes including Mariamman festival in Pollachi.

Similarly, Hindu brothers also participate happily in eid and ramzan programmes. We participate in such events to ensure communal harmony. This is what he said.
