The newly-appointed West Zone Police Chief Bhavaneeswari said that more emphasis will be given to curbing illegal activities and the borders will be strengthened to curb drug trafficking.



IG Bhavaneeswari, who took charge as the West Zone Police Chief, held a press conference at her office on Coimbatore Race Road.



Speaking at that time, she said," the police officers and police personnel in the western zone are doing a good job.The Superintendent of Police of Coimbatore district also appreciated that they are creating awareness about the girl child and how to prevent the crime against them.

Similarly, drug trafficking is definitely a big crime and action will definitely be taken to find out and take appropriate action. She said that it would be done effectively and immediate action would be taken if illegal activities took place. Strict action will be taken against those who indulge in any illegal activity. Whatever happens against women and children will be taken immediately and all will be arrested. She warned that awareness would be created on how to eradicate drug trafficking.

She also said that awareness will be created in all schools regarding anti-truck day on The 11th. "I will talk to the officials and take all possible steps to prevent the drug from coming in any way," she said. Cctv cameras have been installed at various places and check posts have been set up at various places to prevent road accidents.

"We will study how drugs are coming in from the border areas and we will do whatever we can to prevent it," she said. "Whoever commits a crime without discriminating against the workers of the northern states as workers of the southern state will definitely be punished," she said. She also assured that the police will take steps to give a good life to the people of The West Zone in a peaceful manner. Ig Bhavaneeswari said that the public will be treated on the occasion of Manuneeti Day and whatever they need on the petitions submitted in it will be done legally and firmly.
