Baby elephant without a trunk is back in Athirappilly forest area near Valparai

A few months ago, tourists spotted a trunkless baby elephant roaming around with her mother in the Athirappilly forest area. When the forest department informed the forest officer and inspected it, It was said that the crocodile might have bitten the little elephant while drinking water.



Coimbatore: A baby elephant without a trunk has been released into Athirappilly in Kerala near Valparai by the forest department.

A few months ago, tourists spotted a trunkless baby elephant roaming around with her mother in the Athirappilly forest area. When the forest department informed the forest officer and inspected it, It was said that the crocodile might have bitten the little elephant while drinking water. The forest department was keeping an eye on the baby elephant. The baby elephant came in droves and went to the forest.



Similarly, after a few months, the forest department inspected the forest area again. Now Thursday morning, the people of the area have seen the elephant near the Kaladi Plantation Rubber Estate in Athirappilly. It was photographed and examined by the forest department.It was revealed that the baby elephant was fine and was recovering well. The people of the area have demanded that the forest department should catch the baby elephant and treat it.
