Two YouTubers Investigated for making Defamatory comments on DIG Vijayakumar's Suicide

Police are questioning Rajavel Nagaraj of the YouTube channel 'Pesu Tamizha Pesu' and Varahi, who operates an Iyyakam named Indian Makkal Mandram, for posting disparaging comments on the suicide of Coimbatore Range DIG Vijayakumar.



Coimbatore: Police are interrogating two YouTubers who posted defamatory comments on Coimbatore Range DIG Vijayakumar's suicide.

On July 7, Vijayakumar, who was working as a DIG for the Coimbatore range, committed himself by shooting himself in his camp office in the Race Course area.



Ramanathapuram police have opened an investigation and have lodged a case.

Additional DGP Arun, visited the spot in person, stated that based on an investigation, he committed suicide owing to mental stress induced by a lack of sleep.

Meanwhile, the city police had summoned eight persons for posting defamatory comments on social media in connection with the suicide of DIG Vijayakumar.

Rajavel Nagaraj of the YouTube channel "Pesu Tamizha Pesu" and Varahi, who runs a Iyyakam called Indian Makkal Mandram, were asked to appear before the court for questioning after they posted derogatory remarks about DIG Vijayakumar on a YouTube channel. The two appeared at ramanathapuram police station on Tuesday. They were questioned by the police.
