Minister Swaminathan inaugurated Happy Sunday event on behalf of Tirupur Corporation

When the Budget for 2023-24 was presented on behalf of the Tirupur Municipal Corporation administration, it was announced that a Sunday of every month would be celebrated as Happy Sunday with traditional cultural programmes and sports competitions for boys and girls in the corporation limits.



Tirupur: When the Budget for 2023-24 was presented on behalf of the Tirupur Municipal Corporation administration, it was announced that a Sunday of every month would be celebrated as Happy Sunday with traditional cultural programmes and sports competitions for boys and girls in the corporation limits. 

In the first phase, a happy Sunday event was launched today at SR Nagar in the fourth zone of Tirupur Corporation.  

State Tamil Development and Information Minister Swaminathan launched the logo for the Happy Sunday event and inaugurated the Happy Sunday event. Corporation Mayor Dinesh Kumar, District Collector Christuraj, Corporation Commissioner Pawan Kumar G Kiriyappanavar, Sub-Collector Sruthan Jayanarayanan and others were present on the occasion.  



Nimir heroine Parvathy Nair graced the occasion as the chief guest and danced and encouraged the public and the youth who attended the event. 



The perunjalangai attam, gummiyattam, kavadiyattam and oyilaattam of the youth were held. A DJ dance for the youth was also organised.  



A large number of young people participated in it and danced enthusiastically. 



Similarly, various sports competitions and painting competitions were held for boys and girls. 

It was announced on the stage itself that a happy Sunday event would be held in every area every month and that it would be held in the second zone next month.

Minister Swaminathan said that he was happy to be participating in the event, which will be held in his own district with traditional cultural programmes after taking over as the Minister for Tamil Development, and that such programmes will be an inspiration to take our traditional cultural programmes to the next level.
