Two cars collide head-on near Dharapuram - Five seriously injured

Five persons, including a woman, were seriously injured when another car collided head-on with a parked car at Chikkanapuram near Dharapuram and have been admitted to Dharapuram government hospital.



Tirupur: Five persons, including a woman, were seriously injured when another car rammed into a parked car at Chikkanapuram near Dharapuram.

Krishna Singh is a government transport driver from Edappadi in Salem district. He, along with his wife Sangeetha, was travelling from Valparai to Edappadi via Krishnapuram on Udumalai Road in a car.

Rathinasamy, Subramani and Mithun, all residents of Marathupatti in Udumalpet, were on their way to Udumalpet after visiting their Kuladeiva Temple in Vellakovil.

Krishna Singh, who had come from Valparai, was sitting on the roadside in Chikkanapuram area after parking his car. The car, which was on its way to Udumalpet from Vellakovil, collided head-on with a parked car at Chikkanapuram.

Five people in two cars were seriously injured in the incident. In this case, the neighbours rescued the five injured and sent them to Dharapuram Government Hospital in a private ambulance.

There they were given intensive care and sent to Coimbatore and Tirupur government hospitals for further treatment. One more person was undergoing treatment at Dharapuram government hospital.

Alangiyam police have registered a case and are investigating the accident involving the two cars.
