Rahul Gandhi dismissal sparks railway blockage protest by Congress cadres protest in Coimbatore

The Congress party besieged the Coimbatore railway station and raised slogans against the central government with the Congress flag in hand. Trying to enter the railway station, the police attempted to stop the Congressmen, but a scuffle ensued between them and the police. This incident caused a lot of confusion and disruption in the area.


Coimbatore: Following Rahul Gandhi's removal as MP, Congress Cadres conducted a train blockade protest in Coimbatore on Saturday.

Congress cadres in the Coimbatore district protested the dismissal of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi from the post of MP.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to two years in jail for defaming Prime Minister Modi's family name by a Surat court. He was later removed from the seat of MP. Across the country, members of the Congress Party are protesting the judicial order.



In this case, the Congress party entered the Coimbatore train station and yelled chants against the central government while holding the Congress flag.



Later, when the police halted the Congressmen who were attempting to enter the railway station, there was a scuffle between the police and the Congressmen.



Following this, the police arrested over 70 congress cadres and expelled those participating in the sudden train obstruction. The siege was headed by district president Karupusamy.
